Zuri in Prague by Hawsé Sumi

I created this piece to capture the strength and elegance of a Black woman standing boldly in Prague—a city of history, beauty, and contrast. Zuri, meaning beautiful in Swahili, reflects her presence, unapologetic and regal. The fragmented glass effect represents resilience, the way we carry our history and identity while navigating new spaces. She is both a traveler and a force, blending grace with quiet power. The rich tones and bold angles mirror the fusion of cultures, reminding us that beauty is found in strength, in movement, and in owning every space we enter.
