Ciphered Essence by Hawsé Sumi

I created this piece to reflect how words shape us—both the ones we speak and the ones left unsaid. The fragmented text across my face represents my thoughts, experiences, and identity, woven into my very being. Some words are clear, others fade into the background, just like memories and emotions. The copper lips stand bold, unspoken power resting behind them, waiting for the right moment to release truth. The half-face symbolizes the duality of self—what I show to the world and what remains hidden. I am a story, a cipher, a voice both loud and silent, waiting to be understood.
